Version: 0.1.9

Subject Alpha

You wake up in a lab, an experiment for some mad scientist. With some help, you escape. What happens next is up to you.

Version 0.1.9

Story-wise, about 50% new content. But major changes behnd-the-scenes. Every passage essentially rewritten. Presentation is closer to where I want it. Looks and feels more like a story, less like a game.

I really liked this one. It played more like a novel than a game, but it was still cool. I hope it gets updated soon.

Seems ok but could really do without the creepy stock photos and the annoying timed segments.  Also, telling me that the colored text is how I change the story and then only 5% of them are interactive is kind of silly.

This was probably one of the best reads I've ever witnessed in a long time. I half-expected some sort of shapeshifter porn, but what came out was a fascinating, though unfinished, ride. It's well written, the options dialogue is fairly unique in it's own right, and it kept me engaged with the mystery of what, or who, your character is. Unfortunetly, this gamemay be abandoned or at best post poned. Last update was October of 2015, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

This is more of an interactive story than game, but it is a great story which is very well written and imaginative.

More serious than most posted here but one I definitely want to see more from.

Subject Alpha is something different.

Much of what is on TFGameSite is erotica.

Subject Alpha is not that—it is well written and earnest account of the life of a teenage shapeshifter who escapes from a mysterious lab and then attempts to have a normal existence in small town Canada.

The game is quite charming in its earnest realism.

The game presents choices in a way I haven't seen before. Rather than having a list of options at the bottom of the page to choose from, you instead just have a next button. Choices come in the form of coloured text embedded in the narrative. Each time you click on the coloured text, you change the text to say something else. By cycling through these options you can change the narrative. It's really quite a cute way of giving the player power over the text of the story and I'd love to see more Twine games adopt this approach.
